Timed entry inside the park
Ghibli's Grand Warehouse entry slots — what to expect
It's the one part of Ghibli Park with a real timed-entry requirement — here's how the slot system actually works.
Why the Grand Warehouse is different
As the most visited single pavilion, the Grand Warehouse uses a chosen entry time — commonly a 10:00 or 14:00 start — rather than open walk-in access, to manage crowding inside its indoor exhibition halls. The building houses the densest concentration of exhibits and interior sets in the park, which is exactly why it needs its own capacity control separate from the outdoor areas.
Booking the slot
The entry time is selected as part of your ticket purchase, alongside your visit date and pass tier — it isn't a separate booking step done later, so decide your preferred slot before you check out rather than assuming you can adjust it afterward.
The rest of the park
Once inside for the day, the outdoor areas — Mononoke Village, Valley of Witches, Dondoko Forest, Hill of Youth — don't carry their own timed-entry requirement, so your day isn't otherwise slot-by-slot. You can move between the outdoor areas at your own pace once you're inside the park.
How long the Grand Warehouse actually takes
Most visitors spend somewhere between one and two hours inside once their slot begins, depending on how much time they spend in each exhibit room and whether they have Premium building access on top of the base exhibits.
Practical tip on timing
If you want to see the Grand Warehouse's exhibits at a relaxed pace before the rest of the park gets busy, the 10:00 slot is generally the quieter of the two common starting times — it also leaves the rest of your day free for the outdoor areas without the Grand Warehouse visit anchoring your afternoon.
What happens if you're late to your slot
As with most timed-entry systems, arriving after your window has closed risks losing access to that slot rather than simply being let in whenever you arrive — build in extra time getting from the station, especially on your first visit when the walk from Ghibli Park Station is unfamiliar.
